The special pizza with sweet corn, bacon and peperoncini was an awesome combination of sweet, salty and spicy!
Only negative was I ordered an espresso and the bar made me a coffee. Was so looking forward to a shot of delicious bitter brew with crema and got a cup of plain black Java. (Our server admitted she and the bar were unfamiliar with coffee drinks.). But she was so nice and a great host, I let it slide.
A little noisy, but not bad.
So far it’s my favorite restaurant in Iowa City, and we’ve been to many. Not fancy, but comfy and nice!
This place is a must try if you haven't already! We absolutely enjoyed our first experience! We got a plate of Chicken Wings to start, a Maggie's Margherita Pizza, a Funghi Pizza, a Pesto Pasta, and an Italian Choc Mousse. Everything tasted authentic and perfect! Love the fact that everything was made fresh with their own unique ingredients, even the pasta is handmade! We will definitely come back again!
It was moderately busy even on a Tuesday! The restaurant also has a cozy atmosphere to compliment the food! Great place for celebratory occasions or social gatherings!

Love the wine selection, and our favorite so far for sure is Jerry’s meatballs as an appetizer. The pizza and pasta are both great. Favorite pizza so far is “The Mark” and favorite pasta is The Cannolini.
Always love the arrogato for desert. Light and delicious. The chocolate mousse also rocked.
We love this place and come weekly. We tend to be early birds so as to get a table, sometimes it is busy later on (and rightly so). If we can’t eat in we will do pickup. It is just a pleasure to feel known by the kind and friendly staff and owner, and the pizza is wonderful. I’m also a fan of the cheesecake and fresh made Italian sodas. As a non alcohol drinker it is a real treat to have something that nice. They have a dedicated gluten free oven available and I believe make their own GF crust, which is amazing.
This place was recommended...out of everything we had my favorite were the appetizers!! The part of the resturant I saw was nice and busy...the staff was very friendly! Definitely will be going back.

The food here is fresh and delicious. The salads are large and well-proportioned. The pizza crust is deliciously simple with a great wood-fired flavor and texture. The toppings and cheese were balanced just right. The burrata was a highlight--so fresh and with just the right delicate seasoning! The service was excellent. Everyone was kind, helpful, and outgoing. I have food allergies, and they bent over backward to help me find something and to make sure it all came out correctly. I'd eat here on a daily basis if I could!
